Now We’re Growing!

With thanks to the funding from City of Vancouver’s Place Making grant, we now have six raised garden boxes. These gardens replace old boxes that were fighting invasive trees. Throughout the project we were able to welcome four new garden members.

It’s wonderful to see all boxes now in use! As our gardeners settle into their new boxes, and their plants mature, we will be updating our members page. Please keep an eye open for new profiles over the course of the summer.

We still have two boxes that we’ve collectively deemed unusable. One is in need of repairs and is too close to a park bench. Unfortunately this means it is often filled with cigarette butts. Another small box has structural problems and is over taken by a stunning sage and Chinese chives. These boxes now serve as communal gardens, one dedicated to herbs and the other to attract pollinators. As funds become available these older boxes will be replaced. This will allow us to welcome even more members!
